Lucknow : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday directed officials to expedite relief and rehabilitation efforts in areas affected by heavy rain and flooding across the state.
He said compensation for loss of life, livestock or homes caused by the rain should be paid immediately. He said negligence in relief operations at any level would not be tolerated. Reviewing the situation, CM said, “People in flood-affected areas should be shifted immediately to relief centres and shelter homes. Officials should listen to residents’ concerns and try to resolve them as soon as possible, he said.
He also directed officials in affected districts to assess crop damage and provide compensation to farmers. Chief minister warned officials against delays in providing compensation for deaths and livestock losses caused by heavy rain. Necessary arrangements should be made there for those whose homes have collapsed. All possible assistance should be provided promptly to affected families. He also directed senior officers to remain in the field, monitor relief and rescue operations, and meet affected families.
