Kolhapur : A 23-year-old student died after being crushed under the wheels of a goods transport vehicle along Peth Vadgaon-Kolhapur Road on Thursday afternoon. About 30 minutes later, when she was near Ganpati Mandir at the entrance of the town, the goods transport vehicle, which was coming towards Kolhapur, hit her. She fell down and came under the wheels of the vehicle, police said. The victim was identified as Mahek Deepak Chawla, a second-year MPharma student at a college in Peth Vadgaon. Police reached out to her parents after identifying her with the help of her college ID card. Chawla had set off from her house in Gandhinagar around noon on her scooter.
