Speaking on the occasion, Tiwari said govt is committed to completely preventing the spread of communicable diseases. He said the role of the Health Department, Municipal Corporation, Panchayati Raj Department, Education Department, Child Development Department, and other related departments is crucial for the success of the campaign. Chief Medical Officer NP Singh said all concerned departments should complete the scheduled activities on time according to their micro plans.
On the occasion, a public awareness rally was organised jointly by Municipal Corporation and Health Department. Sanitation workers of the Municipal Corporation, ASHA workers of the Health Department, and other health personnel participated in the rally. Through the rally, people were made aware of cleanliness, prevention of waterlogging, elimination of mosquito breeding sites, and protection from communicable diseases. He appreciated the efforts being made by various departments in Varanasi district, especially for the prevention of dengue and malaria. He appealed to the public not to allow water to accumulate in and around their homes and to avoid self-medication in case of fever. Varanasi: Special Communicable Disease Control Campaign and Dastak Campaign were launched on Thursday at Shri Shiv Prasad Gupta Divisional Hospital, Kabirchaura, by former minister and MLA Neelkanth Tiwari.
