Vijay criticises Stalin over 'indecent' remarks against TVK candidate

“DMK is anti-democratic,” Vijay said

In a post on X, Vijay accused the DMK of promoting an “obscene, violent and perverse” political culture, claiming that Stalin’s remarks amounted to an admission of responsibility for such a culture within the party. “DMK is anti-democratic,” he said, accusing the DMK leaders of repeatedly making derogatory remarks about women, without bothering about their feelings. “The people of Tamil Nadu, particularly voters of Dharapuram, would give a fitting reply to the DMK in the Oct 6 bypoll,” he said and noted that he was voicing his protest as a “son and brother” of the women of the state.

Chennai: Chief minister C Joseph Vijay on Saturday accused DMK president M K Stalin of making indecent and derogatory remarks about TVK’s Dharapuram bypoll candidate P Sathyabama at an election meeting in the constituency.

In Coimbatore, minister C T R Nirmal Kumar demanded an apology from Stalin, saying the DMK was a “menace to society” and should be removed. He said Stalin’s campaign in Dharapuram had exposed his “real face” and alleged that the DMK president had spoken out of frustration and without restraint. PMK floor leader Sowmiya Anbumani said Stalin had raised several issues during his campaign in Dharapuram, but the controversial remark had overshadowed the rest of his speech.

Kumar claimed the party would face defeat in future and would not return to power. She urged political leaders to refrain from making personal comments about individuals.
