Kanpur: A 67-year-old retired ENT surgeon died after falling from his scooter near Anandpuri Gate in Kanpur on Saturday evening. Family members alleged that he suffered a heart attack after the vehicle bounced over a speed breaker.
Naresh Chandra, a resident of Kidwai Nagar B-Block, was returning home around 5.30 pm after closing his private clinic when the incident occurred in the Babupurwa police station area, according to police. Chandra sustained serious injuries to his hand and mouth in the incident. Passers-by alerted his family, who took him to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him dead after examination. Police inspected the spot and sent the body for post-mortem examination.
His family said he lost balance as the scooter crossed a speed breaker and fell from the vehicle. They alleged that his condition deteriorated after the fall and that he suffered a heart attack.
