More than 500,000 rupees were withdrawn from the account of a 14-year-old farmer’s son who used to play online games
Kanpur: Police commissioner Raghubir Lal has directed the cyber police to register a case after Rs 5.06 lakh was allegedly transferred via UPI from the bank account of a man whose 14-year-old son, a Class VII student, was reportedly playing online games. Rajkumar said he had sold around 1.5 bighas of land last year for Rs 1.20 crore and deposited the amount in Bank of India’s Chakarpur branch. He alleged that between Sept 11 and Sept 17, around Rs 5.06 lakh was transferred from his account to multiple accounts through UPI transactions. Rajkumar discovered the transactions when he visited the bank on Sept 18 to withdraw money.

He subsequently lodged a complaint through the cyber helpline and also approached Sachendi police station. Claiming that no action had been taken, he appealed to the police commissioner, who directed the cyber police station to register a case and investigate the matter. Download the TOI App.
Rajkumar , a resident of Chakarpur village in Sachendi, approached the commissioner on Monday, alleging that Sachendi police had failed to take action on his complaint.
