MPSC aspirants protest at SM Joshi Bridge late on Oct 4 evening

Permission was sought from Pune city police on Sept 25 this year to stage a protest against irregularities in the MPSC examination process. On Sept 26, police permission was granted, subject to certain conditions, for a protest at SM Joshi Bridge on Oct 2. However, after a meeting between chief minister and representatives of MPSC candidates on Sept 30, 25 representatives submitted a letter to the police stating that they had suspended the protest, the PIL alleges.

Pune commissioner of police (CP) Amitesh Kumar said state govt’s lawyers would respond to the court notice and that the order would be complied with. Pune: A public interest litigation (PIL) has been filed in Bombay high court seeking that a separate site be designated for the protests of the state civil services aspirants and the conduct of the stir on roads be stopped.
