Lucknow: Prof Koneni V Sashidhara, scientist ‘G’ and head of the Medicinal and Process Chemistry Division at CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow, has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), UK, in recognition of his contributions to medicinal chemistry and drug discovery. His work focuses on the discovery of potential drug molecules from natural products and synthetic compounds for the treatment of metabolic disorders, infectious diseases and cancer. His research combines chemical and biomedical sciences to identify bioactive molecules that could form the basis of future therapies.
