Addressing the media on Sunday, BJP’s state civic election in-charge Sukanta Majumdar said that the drop boxes will be set up at BJP’s old headquarters – 6, Muralidhar Sen Lane. In the (2026) assembly election, we were ahead in 104 of the then 144 KMC wards. There will be BJP candidates in all 209 KMC seats,” Majumdar said. After delimitation, the KMC ward count has gone up from 144 to 209. In the last 49 years, first Left Front turned Kolkata to a dead city with wrong policies and Trinamool went on tarnishing the city through corruption.”

Kolkata: Bengal BJP will start a unique ‘drop box’ initiative on Monday to invite resumes from interested citizens, including youth, so that some among them can be selected as the party’s candidates in the upcoming Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) elections.

Interested individuals, including civil society representatives with a clean image, can submit their resumes directly into these boxes, the Union minister said. Stressing that the governing party’s aim is to see that Kolkata regains its dignity and pride, the minister said, “Kolkata is an emotion, a culture, and the chief centre of Bengal’s renaissance. “The Opposition is mostly directionless and fragmented. This time, we are preparing ourselves to reach all wards.
