Belagavi : Residents of Hanuman Nagar have urged the Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) commissioner to remove a barricade erected across a 40-foot-wide road near Hanuman Nagar Circle, alleging that the closure has inconvenienced people who have used the road for nearly five decades.
In a representation submitted to the commissioner and signed by several residents, members of the Government Employees’ Cooperative Housing Society, Hanuman Nagar, alleged that M/s Navasa Estates LLP blocked the road with two steel panels around 6am on Oct 7. 4961, north of Hanuman Nagar Circle. They claimed that the road has been in use since 1975-76 and is part of the approved master plan of the Belagavi Urban Development Authority. Maintaining that the road has served residents of the locality for nearly 50 years, the society members said its sudden closure has caused considerable inconvenience and disrupted access to the area.
They said a board restricting public access was also installed at the spot. The road is located west of Hanuman Tower, constructed on CTS No, according to the residents.
