The temple management said arrangements for vehicle parking, organised darshan queues, drinking water and emergency health services had been made at the shrine. Amol Joshi, a devotee from Latur, said visiting the Renukamata temple at Mahur during Navaratra was a fulfilling and spiritually enriching experience for him. Notwithstanding the huge crowd, we try to visit the shrine every year to invoke blessings,” he said.
Devotees thronged major shrines, including the Renukamata temple at Mahur in Nanded district, the Tuljabhavani temple at Tuljapur in Dharashiv district and the Karnapura temple in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Mahaprasad was also being provided to devotees. “Renukamata has been worshipped in our home for many generations. At the Tuljabhavani temple in Tuljapur, the ghat is installed on the left side of the Goddess in the lion sanctum, in keeping with tradition. The soil used for the Ghatasthapana ritual was brought from land donated to the temple by Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj . Following the ritual, other religious ceremonies and programmes began at the temple amid a sea of devotees. At the Karnapura temple in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, a huge rush of devotees was witnessed on the first day of Navaratra.
