Rs 100 cr land reclaimed in Aligarh anti-encroachment drive

Agra : Aligarh district administration has cleared illegal encroachments from nearly 106 bighas of gram sabha land worth over Rs 100 crore in Mirzapur Siya village under Kol tehsil.

Officials estimate the land value at ₹90 lakh to ₹1 crore per bigha. The land was part of more than 300 bighas leased out in the 1990s, according to Kol SDM Gajendra Pal Singh. Following an inquiry into irregularities, the administration cancelled leases covering 296 bighas in 2022—a decision later upheld by the revenue board.
