Ahmedabad : A 28-year-old woman died after a motorcycle allegedly being ridden at high speed and in a rash manner rammed into her scooter on DPS Canal Road late on Friday night. The rider abandoned the motorcycle at the scene and fled.

Hardik Darji, the couple had married around two months ago, according to a complaint lodged with Bopal police by her husband. Darji, a choreographer, conducts garba classes in the Science City area. After finishing the class, he met her at Pakwan Crossroads, and both headed home on their respective two-wheelers. At around midnight, when they reached a three-way junction on DPS Canal Road, an unidentified motorcyclist allegedly approached from the Shela side at high speed and collided with Nishi’s scooter. The impact threw Nishi onto the road, leaving her with severe injuries to her right leg, right hand, and fingers. Residents from a nearby residential complex gathered at the spot, while the motorcyclist allegedly abandoned his vehicle and escaped.

On Friday evening, Darji attended his garba class while his wife, Nishi, was at her parental home in Vastrapur.

However, doctors declared her dead at around 12.50am on Saturday. Police have registered a case against the unidentified rider and launched an investigation.
