Ahmedabad: Transformer manufacturer Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Limited (TARIL) will invest Rs 1,250 crore to set up three greenfield manufacturing plants at its Chiyada complex in Gujarat. The facilities will manufacture bushings, pressboard and insulation materials, and continuously transposed conductors.
In-house manufacturing would give the company greater control over quality, lead times and operational efficiency,” said Satyen Mamtora, managing director and CEO of TARIL. Chairman Jitendra Mamtora said, “The investment would strengthen domestic manufacturing of critical transformer components and support India’s power infrastructure requirements. TARIL will house the three facilities under a wholly owned ancillary subsidiary. The company expects in-house production of these components to improve quality control, reduce lead times and strengthen supply chain resilience. The investment comes as India expands its transmission network to integrate renewable energy, improve interstate power connectivity and meet rising electricity demand. “This investment represents far more than a capacity expansion. It is a strategic move towards deep vertical integration.
