Strong growth in tyre exports in Q1 reflects the growing acceptance of Indian-made tyres across global markets

Chennai: India’s tyre exports grew 16% year-on-year to ₹7,700 crore in the first quarter of FY27, despite geopolitical uncertainty, supply chain disruptions, and elevated input and logistics costs, the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association (ATMA) said, citing Commerce Ministry data.

The growth follows a record export value of ₹27,312 crore achieved in FY26. Passenger Car Radial (PCR) tyre exports rose 21% in value during the quarter.

“Growth in tyre exports during the first quarter represents a strong start to the new financial year and reflects the growing acceptance of Indian-made tyres in global markets,” Arun Mammen, chairman, ATMA, said in a statement.

Europe was a key growth driver, with exports to the region rising 25% to ₹3,003 crore in Q1FY27 and accounting for nearly 40% of India’s total tyre exports. The US remained the largest single export market, contributing 16% of total exports.
