New Delhi: A fire broke out at a timber and plywood factory in west Delhi ’s Mundka in the early hours of Sunday, prompting the deployment of 25 fire tenders and more than 100 firefighters.
The building stood on an area of around 2,000 square yards. The blaze was brought under control by around 6.30am. The blaze was reported around 3am at a timber godown in Assam Timber Market near Rajdhani metro station, according to Delhi Fire Services. No casualties were reported in the incident. A senior fire official said, “the fire was confined to the basement of a building comprising a basement, ground/stilt floor and two upper floors. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Download the TOI App.
