New Delhi: An unidentified person allegedly robbed an 88-year-old man of Rs 80,000 outside his house in southwest Delhi’s Najafgarh Wednesday. A case has been registered.
The complainant, a resident of Shyam Vihar Phase 2, told police that he had gone to a bank near Najafgarh around 11 am to withdraw cash. He withdrew Rs 80,000 through a cheque and also submitted a requisition for a new cheque book, according to the complaint. The bag is said to have contained Rs 80,000 in cash, a cheque book and other personal belongings.
The complainant told police that due to his age, he was unable to chase the robber.
