Four minors were apprehended for firing at and assaulting two people in east Delhi ’s Shahdara

The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

New Delhi: Four minors were apprehended for firing at and assaulting two people in east Delhi ’s Shahdara. One of the victims, Javed, was an accused in a murder case and was absconding.

On Oct 5, a PCR call went to the police regarding a forced entry into a house in Bhikham Singh Colony by a few people, who then fired 3-4 rounds. On reaching the spot, police found Javed (21) with a bullet injury in his left forearm, besides knife injuries on the left side of his neck. His aunt, Maimoona Bibi (31), had also suffered knife injuries. On Oct 7, police caught the suspects after a tip-off.

Investigation revealed that Javed was one of the seven accused of murdering Akbar, classified as a bad character by police. During interrogation, the minors allegedly revealed that they attacked Javed to fulfil the wish of their mentor – who had been murdered by his own nephew in Jan. Both were shifted to a hospital. CCTV footage of the surrounding area was examined. Their mentor, also classified as a bad character, had asked the minors to avenge his friend Akbar’s death.
