A 21-year-old student named Muskan was fatally stabbed inside her Delhi home.
NEW DELHI: A 21-year-old student and model, identified as Muskan, was allegedly stabbed to death inside her second-floor home in west Delhi’s Tilak Nagar on Wednesday evening, with police suspecting the involvement of her former gym trainer, Imran. A senior police officer said, “A woman, around 21 years of age, was stabbed to death when she was alone at her residence. Police received a PCR call about the incident and have launched a search for the accused.
“We are searching for the culprit,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Gupta told reporters, adding that CCTV footage from the surrounding area was being examined. Police said Muskan and Imran had known each other for around one-and-a-half years. Some relatives and neighbours told investigators that Imran was frequently seen in the locality and had allegedly been pursuing Muskan, who was suspected to have rejected him. Dimpal, a receptionist at Seven Zone Fitness Destination, said Imran had left the job around one to two months ago after complaints about his conduct.
Muskan was reportedly alone at home when Imran allegedly entered the house, attacked her multiple times with a knife and fled. Hearing her cries for help, neighbours rushed to the residence and found her seriously injured and lying in a pool of blood. CCTV footage is being examined and police investigation is under way. The police have formed multiple teams to trace Imran and are also scanning Muskan’s phone for possible leads. Investigators have raided the gym where Imran worked and his home, besides questioning his family members and friends. The gym where Imran had worked also came under police scrutiny. The murder has triggered tension in the locality as Muskan and the accused belong to different faiths. Heavy police deployment has been put in place to prevent any untoward incident.
