Traffic restrictions will be in place across central Delhi roads for the BRICS Summit.
NEW DELHI: Traffic restrictions and diversions will come into force across several key roads in central Delhi as the BRICS Summit 2026 gets underway at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan. The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for 2pm to 8.30pm on September 11, with traffic to be regulated at 22 diversion points and restrictions likely on more than 35 roads. The focus will be on diverting traffic away from routes being used for the movement of summit delegates. Major roads under regulation include Mathura Road, Sardar Patel Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, Teen Murti Marg, Akbar Road, Tees January Marg, Rajesh Pilot Marg, Subramaniam Bharti Marg, Moti Lal Nehru Marg, Dr Zakir Hussain Marg, Africa Avenue Road, Satya Marg, Shanti Path, Janpath, Ashoka Road, Barakhamba Road, Tolstoy Marg, Ranjeet Singh Flyover, Niti Marg, Panchsheel Marg, K.G. Marg, PWD Abdul Kalam Road, Press Enclave Road, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, Josef Broz Tito Marg and Lala Lajpat Rai Marg. Traffic police have also placed advance signage at key junctions, including ITO, warning commuters not to proceed beyond restricted points. With government offices and schools shut for the day, traffic officials expect the restrictions to have limited impact on regular daytime movement. At Dinesh Nandini Dalmia Chowk, traffic towards Mathura Road and Tilak Marg will not be allowed beyond the junction. At Ram Charan Aggarwal Chowk, commercial vehicles will not be allowed beyond the junction towards W-Point. Diversions will also be in place at Mir Dard Chowk, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, Janpath, Patel Chowk, RML Hospital roundabout and Vande Mataram Marg.
