HYDERABAD: Police have booked four men for confining an 18-year-old refugee to a rented house in Kanchanbagh and raping her repeatedly over the past five months. The main accused, himself a refugee living in a camp in the city, brought the teenager from Bangladesh to Hyderabad illegally in May 2026, according to police. The four accused have been booked under Sections 64(2)(m) (rape), 127(4) (wrongful confinement) and 351 (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

After coming to Hyderabad, he married the teenager and confined her to a rented house,” said Kanchanbagh Inspector J Balaraju. Police said he also allowed three of his friends, all refugees, to rape her during this period. “After hearing what she had gone through, they brought her to the police on Monday,” said Rajendranagar DCP S Srinivas.

He was already married but concealed this from her. After bringing her to Hyderabad, he married her and kept her locked inside a rented house. “He is already married but lied to the victim about his marital status. Police recorded her statement at the Bharosa centre and sent her for a medical examination. Some of them have reportedly been taken into custody.
