Hyderabad: A 29-year-old software professional died by suicide at her residence in Madhapur in the early hours of Sunday. Police suspect that relationship-related issues with her boyfriend may have made her take the extreme step.
Police said that at around 2.30 am, while Vimal was attending a function with his mother, Archana made a video call to him and threatened to take her own life if he did not marry her. He arrived at around 5.30 am and found her flat’s door locked.
Archana Choudhari Malik, who worked as a senior associate at a company in Mindspace, had allegedly been in a relationship with her colleague, Vimal , a native of Uttarakhand, for the past four years, according to Madhapur police. When Archana stopped responding to his calls a few minutes later, Vimal rushed to her residence. He then alerted the police, who reached the spot and forcibly opened the door. Archana was found dead inside the flat. During the preliminary investigation, police learnt that Vimal was already married and that his marriage was heading towards divorce.
Police have registered a case of suspicious death and launched an investigation.
Police said that they will examine the communication exchanged between Archana and Vimal.
