Kolkata: A father, who has been searching for his teenage daughter for the past seven months, has approached Rajarhat police for the second time, seeking their intervention to trace her. The girl has remained untraced since Feb and her father fears she was abducted and possibly trafficked out of the state.
The father had approached Rajarhat police on Feb 7 itself and submitted a written complaint about his daughter’s disappearance, according to the complaint.
Police said they were investigating the allegations and efforts were being made to ascertain the girl’s whereabouts. We have also got in touch with Delhi Police for further cooperation in the case,” said a senior officer of Bidhannagar city police. He alleged that the then inspector-in-charge treated it as a General Diary entry instead of registering an FIR. “We have started a case of kidnapping, abduction, wrongful confinement and human trafficking and are trying to trace the girl.
He has named a youth from Delhi, who had allegedly developed a relationship with the girl, along with three of his family members, claiming they acted together to abduct his daughter through deceit and subsequently wrongfully confine or conceal her.
