Accused Ali arrested
Bengaluru: A 25-year-old migrant worker from Bihar was arrested for allegedly creating and posting an AI-generated video depicting a bomb blast at Vidhana Soudha.
The accused, Hazrat Ali Shoiab, is a resident of Araria district in Bihar and has been working in Bengaluru as a daily-wage labourer (pipe-fitter) for the past few months, police said. The video surfaced Tuesday morning on an Instagram handle named ‘jnxkingh_g’, according to officials. In his post, Ali, who acts like he is shooting in Soudha’s direction with a pistol, says, ‘Vidhanasabha uda diya bam se’ (Blew up assembly with a bomb).
The video initially shows footage of the exterior of Vidhana Soudha, followed by AI-based visual effects showing a massive explosion inside the historic building. Vidhana Soudha police registered an FIR and tracked the internet protocol (IP) logs and digital footprints associated with the social media account, which led them to Ali.

Officials said Ali is being interrogated to determine his motive behind the post as well as whether anyone else assisted him in editing or generating the AI footage. Download the TOI App.
