A spectators’ gallery being erected in Belagavi
Nearly 4,000 police personnel will be deployed across the city, including officers and staff drawn from various districts of Karnataka. Security will be reinforced by 10 Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) platoons and one Rapid Action Force (RAF) unit. Around 500 CCTV cameras have been installed at strategic locations, enabling real-time monitoring from the police control room.
To maintain law and order during the large-scale event, the police department has rolled out an extensive security plan. Major roads, junctions, sensitive locations and immersion points will remain under strict surveillance throughout the celebrations. Separate teams have been formed for crowd management, traffic regulation and emergency response to ensure the event is conducted without disruption. Police commissioner Prakash Nikan has appealed to Ganeshotsav mandals to adhere strictly to designated routes and timings during the procession. He also urged citizens not to fall prey to rumours and to cooperate with authorities in maintaining peace and communal harmony.
