Bommai said a permanent solution required a clear formula for determining sugar recovery rates, cane weight and prices between farmers and sugar factories. A committee constituted to address growers’ concerns and examine MSP will meet Monday and formulate a solution within a week, he said. Bommai also sought stringent action against foreign funds allegedly used for anti-India activities. He accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of speaking against India abroad and alleged Congress was trying to create instability. On the alleged sting operation targeting ministers, Bommai sought a comprehensive probe, saying investigators should establish who created the material, financed it and masterminded the operation. He termed such tactics a decline in political morality. Download the TOI App.
