Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah inaugurates the traditional pairing ceremony for the wrestling tournament in Mysuru Sunday
Speaking after inaugurating the programme held at D Devaraja Urs multi-purpose stadium in the city, he said Mysuru Dasara has cultural grandeur and the traditional sport of wrestling also has a long history. The main objective of this wrestling tournament is to provide a suitable platform and encouragement to local and state-level sportspersons, he said. He said participation and sportsmanship are more important than winning or losing in such sports.
He also wished good luck to all wrestlers and sportspersons participating in the wrestling tournament. Mysuru : Mysuru district minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah on Sunday flagged off the traditional pairing ceremony for Dasara Nadakusti, one of the main attractions of the Nada Habba (Dasara festival).
Krishnaraja MLA TS Srivatsa, superintendent of police Mallikarjuna Baladandi, additional SP Nagesh L, Dasara Wrestling Committee working president Dharmendra, secretary Narasimha Murthy and hundreds of wrestlers were present.
