The body of Padmavathy, 72, wife of the late Kumaran, was found in a room by her son, Sharath , who had returned home after work at a private establishment in Thodupuzha on Saturday evening.
A piece of cloth was wrapped around Padmavathy’s face and her two-sovereign gold chain was missing, according to Sharath’s statement to the police. However, the postmortem conducted at Idukki medical college found the cause of death as a head injury sustained in a fall and there were no indications of an unnatural death, said Thodupuzha deputy superintendent of police Saji Markose. Police are investigating the disappearance of the gold chain, the DSP said.
The gold chain she had been wearing was found missing. The woman and son were the only occupants of the house. Thodupuzha : An elderly woman was found dead inside her house at Chellal, Thottappara, near Nediyasala in Karinkunnam on Saturday.
