Yadgir : Yadgir Women’s Police have registered a case against six persons, including two railway police personnel, for allegedly sexually assaulting, intimidating and wrongfully confining a 22-year-old woman at multiple locations over a prolonged period.
Police said the accused have been booked under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). A detailed investigation is under way, and teams have been formed to trace and arrest the accused. The woman further alleged that two railway police personnel, one identified as Sharanappa and another yet to be identified, later arrived at the house, threatened her and sexually assaulted her. A co-passenger who noticed her in distress later helped her approach the police. She was shifted to Shakti Sadan, a state-run women’s shelter in Yadgir, before lodging a formal complaint detailing the alleged ordeal she endured over the past three months.
