A 17-year-old college student was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in her home in Chinchwad, Pune, on Friday afternoon. According to Senior Police Inspector Dattatreya Chaskar of the Chinchwad police, the incident occurred while the student was alone at home. Her parents found her when they returned in the afternoon.

“Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide,” Chaskar said. He said the victim was a student at a private college in the city. Our investigation is underway,” he said.
