2 dead, including 8-year-old, 4 injured after electrocution at temporary drinking water stall

In a tragic incident in Mumbai, two individuals, including an eight-year-old child, lost their lives following an electrocution at a temporary drinking water stall. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday near the entrance gate of a Ganeshotsav mandal in Kalachowki. Additionally, four others sustained injuries as a result of the electrocution. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.

A temporary electricity meter had been installed to power the Ganpati mandal’s illumination and the cold drink stall, according to the BMC. The incident took place at Dattaram Lad Marg near the Mahaganpati Utsav Mandal. The temporary meter wiring and MCB were later disconnected by a local electrician. Following the incident, BEST officials inspected the electrical installation at Digvijay Mill Chawl on Dattaram Lad Marg in Kalachowki. Six people were taken to two hospitals after the incident. Four were admitted to Masina Hospital, while two were taken to Global Hospital.

At Masina Hospital, Raghini Ghanshyam Yadav, 8, was declared brought dead. Kiran Akbar Naik, 19, Tanvi Naresh Hande, 19, and Sahil Sandip Tare, 19, were admitted in stable condition. At Global Hospital, Sujata, 33, was declared brought dead, while 12-year-old Ruhi Singh was admitted in critical condition.
