Bhuse orders probe against junior colleges over offline Std XI: The wider industry impact

Education minister Dada Bhuse assured parents and students that no candidate would suffer due to procedural lapses

Keeping the students’ best interests in mind, the govt is considering solutions to ensure their academic year is not disrupted,” the education minister said, assuring parents and students that no candidate would suffer due to procedural lapses.

This happened in Ashram Shalas, Sainik Schools and Vidya Niketans or during change of colleges in Standard XI or XII, for any reason,” Saroj Jagtap, secretary, Nashik Divisional Board, said. Nashik : State school education minister Dada Bhuse has ordered an inquiry against junior colleges which granted offline admissions to Standard XI students, resulting in major complications during their form submissions for Standard XII board examination. “Certain institutions have granted offline admissions on a large scale. A thorough inquiry will be conducted into this matter. Action will be taken against institutions found guilty of wrongdoing.

Last year, the admissions for Standard XI were processed through the centralised online system, yet some admissions were carried out through the offline process wherever there were issues.

The records of 14,088 students have been cleared so far, with the remaining cases expected to be resolved well before the deadline. In Nashik division, affected students belonging to recognised, state-approved junior colleges have approached the education department for corrections.
