A few candidates appearing for the UPSC-organised National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination-II, 2026, at KVN Naik examination centre were refused entry after reaching beyond the 9.30am cutoff. Some candidates claimed that students at certain centres were allowed entry till 9.40am and questioned why similar flexibility was not shown to them. Resident deputy collector Rohitkumar Rajput said examination guidelines clearly require gates to be closed at least 30 minutes before the start of the examination and that no officer has the authority to permit entry after the deadline. senior district administration and police officials said not more than 15 candidates were turned away after the gates closed While students claimed that many aspirants were affected. A total 3,176 candidates appeared for the exams, and 1,199 were absent for the CDS (II) and NDA and NA (II) exams conducted in Nashik across 13 sub centres, said the district administration.

The aspirants said they were late by barely two to three minutes. Candidates told reporters that poor road conditions and congestion at multiple stretches delayed their journey to the centre.
