Pune: A total of 13,119 candidates have been recommended for appointment against 19,754 teacher posts advertised through Maharashtra’s Pavitra Portal, leaving 6,635 positions vacant, according to the state school education department. The recommendations are based on the teacher aptitude and intelligence test (TAIT) 2025. The online examination was conducted between May 27 and June 5, 2025. Out of the 2,28,808 candidates who registered, 2,11,308 appeared for the test, and 1,70,108 eventually completed their self-certification. Following advertisements posted on the portal between May 1 and Aug 20, 2026, candidates were permitted to submit their preferences between August 6 and August 16. At the school level, 4,207 candidates have been recommended for 5,421 posts for Classes 6 to 8, leaving 1,214 vacant. For Classes 9 and 10, 1,119 candidates have been recommended against 1,298 posts, while 252 have been recommended against 364 posts for Classes 11 and 12.
