Morbe dam water will be supplied to Airoli and Digha ward areas: The wider industry impact

Navi Mumbai: Morbe dam water will be supplied to Airoli and Digha ward areas within a year. The required infrastructure work is underway. This was assured by the mayor Sujata Patil and house leader Sagar Naik of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation during a joint visit to the locality.

Mayor Sujata Patil said that MIDC water supply is being partly made to Airoli ward also. The pipeline-laying and allied works are underway from Morbe dam to Digha. The regular shutdowns by MIDC result in water scarcity for three days a week. Efforts are on to supply the dam water to the area during the shutdown hours of MIDC.

The two leaders were briefed about the 97% completion of the hospital structure, while the remaining 3%, including electrical works, is pending. The 100-bed (50 for mother child and 50 for general) hospital facility will reduce the load at other civic body hospitals.
