Senior civic counsel with advocate Rohan Mirpury for BMC listed before Justice Girish Kulkarni-led bench, the initiatives undertaken and a City Wide Action Plan for all wards, the Swacch Mumbai Prabodhan Abhiyan in coordination with NGOs, and its Mumbai Clean League 2026 plan.

Mumbai: Bombay high court on Thursday praised BMC for steps taken to tackle indiscriminate dumping of garbage, saying along with “proactive” civic effort it is imperative for the citizens to play their role as well. Rane said while odour may have dropped at Kanjurmarg, levels of odourless chemicals need tackling. “It’s never too late” and as BMC says its vision will not be a mere paper slogan.

The HC was hearing the issue of odour and health hazards at Kanjurmarg waste management facility argued by advocate Abhijeet Rane in which last month it sought improved action from BMC for better waste management across Mumbai.
