Nashik : Mhasrul police on Thursday registered a case under Protection of Children from Sexual

As her parents opposed the marriage, she allegedly left home in Dec last year when she was 17 years and eight months old. The couple subsequently married in May 2026 after the girl turned 18 and informed the police about the marriage. During the investigation, police concluded that the accused had established physical relations with the girl despite knowing that she was below 18 years of age, resulting in her pregnancy.

The whereabouts of the accused, who works for a private company, were not known and efforts were under way to trace him, police said. Police said despite being advised by her father and her future mother-in-law to return to her parents, she declined to do so. Based on her statement, police registered an FIR her husband under relevant provisions of the Pocso Act . A few days later, she realised she was pregnant and began treatment at a govt hospital.

Nashik : Mhasrul police on Thursday registered a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act against a man after it was found that his wife had conceived while she was still a minor.

The case came to light after an 18-year-old girl gave birth to a baby boy at Nashik Civil Hospital on Sept 12, according to police. During a subsequent inquiry, authorities found that she had become pregnant before attaining the age of 18.
