Newly elected corporators flag contaminated and irregular water supply at PCMC’s general body meeting
NCP corporator Varsha Jagtap said residents of Vallabhnagar and nearby areas receive water at 1am for barely 30 minutes. She claimed that 30 to 35 dog bite cases are reported daily from Akurdi. Several corporators said they were greeted with numerous complaints from residents in their wards soon after the election results were announced.

If this is the situation now, how will the corporation manage during summer?” she asked. The issue of human-stray conflict triggered reactions. Vaishali Kalbhor alleged that despite sterilisation drives, the stray dog population had only increased.

Bhausaheb Bhoir, the leader of the opposition, emphasized that neglecting the ongoing water crisis could impose significant burdens on future generations. Meanwhile, Prashant Shitole, the leader of the house, expressed disappointment that the general body was forced to focus on fundamental civic issues rather than advancing new development projects.
