Mumbai: The crime branch claimed to have recovered voice notes containing conversations about procuring weapons, delivering them at designated locations and returning them after use from the mobile phones of actor Tiger Shroff firing accused Kunal, Sumit , Radha and Babita. These conversations were with US-based gangster Anil Pandit.

Opposing their police custody, advocate Ajinkya Mirgal, representing the accused, told the court, “Police have already exhausted their custody of six days; they have seized mobile phones, weapons have been recovered, and now, on the same grounds, they are seeking further custody, which is not justifiable. The police said the voice notes indicated that the accused were aware of the conspiracy and knew the purpose for which the weapons were being delivered. However, the role of alleged gang operative Anil Pandit in the conspiracy has not yet been fully established. Data comprising photos and videos, including those of the weapons used in the crime, has been recovered from their phones. As per the police, these accused had travelled to Amritsar to procure the weapons, while the two women smuggled the firearms by train to Mumbai, handing them over directly to the attackers.
The investigation revealed that the accused were communicating through the Signal app, which they destroyed.
Investigation officer Sunil Pawar told TOI they will examine them to establish the identities of the speakers and determine the roles played by the accused. Investigators further claimed that several photographs, videos and other data had been deleted from the accused’s mobile phones and other devices.
