Pune: Hinjewadi police on Tuesday arrested a woman (50) on the charge of bludgeoning her live-in partner (53) to death the previous night. The officer said the woman was arrested under Section 103 (murder) of the BNS. The murder took place on forest land in Kasarsai near Hinjewadi. The victim’s nephew lodged a complaint with the Hinjewadi police.
His wife and son had left him due to his habits.
An officer from the Hinjewadi police said that, according to the complainant, the victim was an alcoholic and had sold off his entire property. The duo often quarrelled after consuming liquor,” the officer said. Furious over this, the woman picked up a stone and bludgeoned him to death,” he said.
He started living with the woman in a shed on forest land in Kasarsai. “The victim and his partner were alcoholics. During interrogation, the woman admitted to bludgeoning him to death. The man beat her up and twisted her hand.
He said the man was found dead near the shed on Monday morning. “The woman claimed that on Sunday night, after consuming liquor, they quarrelled.
