Chandrapur : Rajura police have arrested a 24-year-old man as the sixth accused in the murder of Papa Jadhav, uncovering his direct involvement in the crime and an organised criminal gang operating behind it.
Jadhav was shot dead near Pradeep Bar in Rajura between 5.30pm and 6pm on August 24. During the probe, investigators found evidence pointing to the involvement of an organised criminal gang and invoked provisions of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), 1999. The accused, Ankit Bapuji Masirkar of Chunala in Rajura taluka, was arrested on the basis of confidential information and evidence gathered during the investigation. Assistant Superintendent of Police and Rajura SDPO Kumar Sushant, IPS, is supervising the further investigation. A court has remanded Masirkar in judicial custody for five days. Download the TOI App.
