Regular daily water supply will not be available on Monday: The wider industry impact

.

Kolhapur : Water supply in Kolhapur city will be disrupted on Monday and Tuesday, October 26 and 27, as the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) undertakes work to install an isolator on the 33 kV high-tension express feeder line of the Kalammawadi project. Regular daily water supply will not be available on Monday and Tuesday, October 26 and 27. Furthermore, on Wednesday, October 28, the water supply is likely to be insufficient and at low pressure.

KMC water supply officials said, “Due to the limitations of these alternative arrangements, it will not be possible to supply water to the city at full capacity. The work will require a two-day power shutdown, halting water supply from the project. To minimise inconvenience, the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation’s (KMC) water supply department will distribute water through alternative pumping stations at Shingnapur, Balinga and Nagdevwadi. However, these arrangements will not meet the city’s full water requirement. Citizens are appealed to use water sparingly and avoid wastage of water. ” Areas affected In A and B wards, the affected areas include Puikhadi, Nana Patil Nagar, Salokhenagar, Katyayani Complex, Tapovan, Devkar Panand, Sambhajinagar Stand, Ramanandnagar, Raigad Colony, Jargannagar, Subhashnagar, Shendapark, RK Nagar, Bharati Vidyapeeth, MHADA Colony, the entire Shivaji Peth and Mangalwar Peth areas, the Raj Kapoor statue vicinity, Mangeshkarnagar, Belbag, Mahalaxminagar, YP Powarnagar and Jawaharnagar.
