Accused driver of SUV Mahindra Thar escaping after accident
Police subsequently traced his mobile tower location to an area near the creek in Sector 12, Vashi, where he was allegedly hiding. The incident took place around 1am. The injured youths were initially taken to NMMC Hospital in Vashi and were later referred to Sion Hospital for further treatment. Following the incident, a biker passing through the area chased the SUV and recorded its registration number on his mobile phone. Police then traced the vehicle’s owner and obtained his mobile number. During the investigation, it was learnt that the owner’s younger brother had taken the SUV out for a joy ride.
