Thodupuzha : A 35-year-old junior health inspector attached to the Vannappuram primary health centre was killed in a road accident on the Vengalloor-Mangattukavala stretch on Wednesday evening. The deceased was Jubina K Imran. The accident occurred near Kaithakkode when a road-tarring jeep carrying metal aggregate from the opposite direction hit her scooter as she was returning home towards Madakkathanam after work at Vannappuram.

Thodupuzha Police said a case had been registered against the jeep driver. The stretch is under construction on one side, and the accident occurred along the stretch where the work is progressing. She was rushed to a private hospital in Vengalloor, but doctors could not save her. She is survived by her husband, Imran Kareem, and children Imad and Isa Fathima. Download the TOI App.
