Police said he was travelling in a car with his wife Sankari, daughter Pavithra and granddaughter to his daughter’s house when the accident took place near Appukottai in Chellampatti panchayat. “He lost consciousness, causing the vehicle to veer to the right side of the road before crashing into a tree,” said a police officer from Nagarasampatti station. Locals rushed to their rescue and called for an ambulance. Nagarasampatti police have registered a case and are investigating further.
