The existing fare structure needs to be revised in view of the increasing expenses faced by vehicle operators, union leaders said. The decision was taken at a meeting of representatives of various trade unions held in Palakkad. The unions have been demanding a revision of auto and taxi fares, citing declining earnings and rising living and operational costs. Despite submitting representations to the state govt, the unions alleged that the authorities had failed to initiate discussions or take steps to address their demands. Download the TOI App.
