Nair said he was pleased with the minister’s visit, adding that NSS has never had differences of opinion with the Muslim community or Indian Union Muslim League. The organisation’s approach is the same towards all religious communities, he said, though he added that the NSS had “a little extra fondness” for the Muslim community. He said the NSS has consistently made significant contributions to the education sector and that its role in the field remains important, adding that the organisation could not be kept out of matters concerning education. The minister said the two discussed issues currently facing the education sector.
Samsudheen described the meeting as cordial. Kottayam : Education minister N Samsudheen visited the NSS headquarters at Perunna on Monday and held talks with the society’s general secretary, G Sukumaran Nair.
