Kochi : Parvathy Maya Shaji, an accused who was arrested by the police for alleged job fraud and later enlarged on bail, has approached the high court seeking pre-arrest bail in similar cases registered after her release.
A bench of Justice C Jayachandran sought instructions from the govt on the petition and adjourned the matter to Oct 13. Parvathy, who runs Amster Overseas Pvt Ltd, an agency engaged in recruiting and supplying human resources abroad, was arrested by the police at Thiruvananthapuram airport on Sept 24 when she arrived from abroad. Later, on Sept 28, the magistrate court granted bail to her. She further claimed that she had already settled more than 100 claims and was ready to settle all genuine claims supported by records of payments made to the firm.
However, she approached the HC seeking anticipatory bail in other cases registered against her after she was released on bail.
The cases were registered at the instance of rival agencies in the employment market, according to her. The arrest was made on complaints by three youths alleging that they had been cheated after being promised jobs in Armenia and Poland. She also sought a directive to the police to issue prior notice to her before requiring her to appear in the cases.
