The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Kochi : c0c0n 2026, the country’s largest cybersecurity conference organised by the state police, will commence on Friday. Home minister Ramesh Chennithala will inaugurate the two-day event at a private hotel here at 9.30am.

The minister also announced actor Asif Ali as the brand ambassador for Cyber Safe Keralam 2026, an initiative launched by Kerala Police.

He said that children must be empowered to recognise and confront negative trends in the cyberworld, just as they do in society. He added that the police alone cannot ensure children’s cyber safety; the collective support of parents, teachers and society is essential. He stated that humanity is currently passing through its greatest era of evolution. He remarked that in an age where artificial intelligence (AI) thinks like humans, it is crucial to prioritise caution and safety; this is precisely why Kerala Police is implementing innovative cybersafety projects like Kid Glove.

On Thursday, Chennithala inaugurated the Kid Glove initiative, a pre-conference event.
