Kochi : Seven migrant workers were allegedly assaulted and robbed at their rented house in Palarivattom in the early hours of Thursday. A five-member gang allegedly forced their way into the house, bolted the doors and robbed the migrants.
The gang forced their way into the house around 12.30am and stole 10 mobile phones worth around Rs 3.05 lakh, wallets, identity cards, ATM cards and other valuables, according to the police. They also made one of the victims reveal his UPI password, after which they made transactions of around Rs 12,000. They stole a gold necklace worth around Rs 1.2 lakh from a woman, and a pair of gold earrings weighing four grams.

Efforts are on to trace the accused, the police said. The victims are from West Bengal and Assam . Download the TOI App.
